The North Bay Project
Introduction
Several months ago I had a lengthy conversation with my fellow paddler, Ray. He had this idea, no, a vision. To paddle for several days without bumping into another soul in a boat he'd crafted with his own fair hands.

Well, that conversation got me thinking. Thinking hard (there was steam and smoke and everything!) I spent the next month or two doing a bit of digging to see what was available and what was required from me to build them.

At the time I started this build my woodworking skills are not hopeless, but I'm certainly no 'Joseph' (famous Biblical carpenter reference for those who don't get it). I've done a few jobs, but they mostly involved huge lumps of timber and required little care and little precision. This is a different kettle of fish, where care and precision could lead to either a boat that goes in continual circles (if it floats) or a hand crafted wonder of the sea. Time will tell...
