Materials Needed:
shuttle
2 threads (one light, one darker) size 10 or
20.
Base Ring: Using darker thread make a ring
of 7ds, 8 picots sep by 2ds, 7 ds.
Round 1: Using lighter thread on shuttle
only --
Small ring of 7 ds, join to 3rd. picot of base
ring,
7ds, close. RW.
Leave a space of 112 to 3/4 inches, depending upon
size of thread, and make a large ring of 7ds, 7 p sep by 2 ds, 7ds. Close,
RW.
Repeat small ring joining to 4th picot of base
ring.
Repeat large ring without joining to
anything.
Repeat small ring joining to 5th picot of base
ring.
Repeat large ring without joining to
anything.
Repeat small ring joining to 6th picot of base
ring.
Finish ends.
Round 2: Using lighter thread on the shuttle and
darker thread on the ball
Join to the 2nd picot of the base ring. Chain
25ds.
Using shuttle thread, join to I St picot of 1 St
large ring, followed by 2nd half ds, 24ds, RW.
Make large ring of 7ds, join to last picot of I
St large ring making that first ring now joined in its first and last
picots,
2ds, 5 p sap by 2 ds, 2ds, join to first picot of middle ring of round 1,
7ds, close, RW.
Chain 25ds, join to 4th (middle) picot of center
large ring of round 1 using shuttle thread. Follow with 2nd half ds and
continue
24 more ds. RW.
Large ring of 7ds, join to last picot of center
ring of round 1, 2ds, 5 p Sep by 2 ds, 2ds, join to 1 St picot of last ring
of round 1, 7ds, close, RW.
Chain 25ds, join to last picot of last ring of
round
I with shuttle thread, 2nd half of ds, 24ds, join to next to last picot of
base ring. Finish ends.
Tassle: Cut some thread twice as long as the
desired
tassle and draw the middle of the length through the base ring keeping the
band open. Pull the length of the tassle up and through the loop formed at
the bend and then pull on the length to tighten the knot. (it will remind
you of a huge ds.)
Note: You can give a copy of this pattern to your
friends as long as it retains the name of the designer.
