Materials-
1-1/2 yards Pearl Cotton Thread (size 8 or 5) #5 (med.) Tatting
Needle
Wire Needle Threader
Twisted-wire Beading Needle or Bee's Wax Sharp-pointed Scissors
3 each Pink-colored Seed Beads (size II)
2 ea. Movable Eyes (3mm)
Instructions
Wind off about 1-1/2 yards of thread from the ball and cut. Thread tatting
needle, leaving about a 4-inch tail. String on 3 beads with beading needle
or stiffen end of thread with bee's wax Begin 1st ring with needle thread,leaving
19" of "ball" thread for completing the 2nd half of the split ring for the,
body. Beads must be on the needle thread (between the first double stitch
and 4-inch tail).
Head
R 2 - - 6, beads [for nose], 6, - - 2 CL R. (ear picots are about
3/4')
Body:
S/R: 15/15 CL
After closing split ring, weave one of the remaining tail threads back through
a few double stitches and cut, leaving 3-4 inches of remaining needle thread
for the tail. Cut off excess. Curl half of the tail end by gently running
it along the edge of a ruler. 'The ears will stand up cute and perky if pulled
gently forward with your tatting needle.
Glue the eyes on with a tiny drop of glue. Press eyes firmly for about a
minute and let dry.
