(Renouncing)
the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor
handling
the word of God deceitfully
2
Corinthians 4:2
The
Holy
Bible is not an ordinary book. Neither is it just another factual
account of history or practical guidelines for living, like volumes of other
help-guides and sources of information across the globe. Nor is it just another philosophical
rendition or haphazard collection of books written by poetic and adept
writers over a wide period of time, by any sense of the word.
To
the contrary, the Holy Bible is
not only a reliable and accurate account of
history but most importantly, it is the only tangible source on earth
where God can reveal Himself to the individual and lead him or her to
forgiveness and redemption, and into a new life in Him, throughout
eternity.
Furthermore,
the Holy Bible is clear by its revelation that it is not
written
by man for the will of man, but written in the will of God
by men, under the direct inspiration of the Holy Ghost, for God and His purpose only.
This
of
course should make the Holy Bible the most valued and unique book
across the globe
and throughout all time. The very reason it has been the biggest
and best seller of all time. The very reason it is also,
ironically, the biggest and most controversial book of all time.
Meaning, this book is sometimes an embarrassment in whether to ban it or banish it. Or to take
the risk in endorsing it, in order for certain groups to validate their
claim to being a Christian ministry or church, to house and facilitate God's
people.
However, in regards to those who would never hesitate (without pretence) in basing their whole life and faith in the scriptures; they know without
the
scriptures, they would have no sure foundation and light
to lead them through this present world of spiritual darkness, confusion
and
subterfuge,
free from error and diversion.
Praise
the Lord for giving His children His preserved and kept word!
Praise Him also for sending His helper, the Holy Ghost, to lead
and guide His
faithful into all truth and confirm the authenticity, authority and reliability of God's written word!
However,
by questioning or correcting this book, or being sceptical to its
content, this would grant the enemy his most effective means in which he could undermine and overthrow
the believers faith in it. Thus rendering the Bible untrustworthy and therefore without conviction power to convert and save.
Two
chief examples are found in scripture to man's alibis in why he should
not obey God's word. Let's begin with the words of the
neutral Pontius Pilate (another great politician) at the
beginning of the New Testament, when he said to Jesus (the author of
the book), "what is truth?" Akin
to the words of the undermining Serpent at the beginning of time, when
he questioned the validity of God's word with, "hath
God said?" Both questions incidentally (each
one found in each testament interestingly), being made up of a sentence of three words,
where man could find weak justification in excusing himself from being
corrected by God.
We know
from scripture however, that the word of God
is true ...
For thy word is truth! Therefore, the Holy Ghost was not sent as
our final
authority. Nor to speak and glorify Himself, for that matter. But to reveal, agree and confirm the
scriptures, and give us the power and unction to live and demonstrate
them.
If the Protestant Church has defended and promoted the scripture, it
has
been largely due to political expedience or to justify its existence,
and prove its institutional "so-earned" "validity" above the Papacy in
Rome.
As Rome
has been busy subverting the Protestant Church in the later centuries,
through infiltration and ecumenicism, there has been a swing in
latter
years to water down the scriptures (hence, the corporate drive to
discredit
the AB and exalt the New Age versions). This has lead to
"revelation"
being based on the Holy Spirit being the Revelator independently of the
word of God.
With
the emphasis now taken off the word and onto the Holy Spirit, this has
proved to be a very clever way in seducing the saints away,
into
eventual full blown heresy.
Hence,
the birth of the Charismatic
Movement
in the late sixties, giving licence to the mainline Protestant denominations
receiving the Holy Ghost without the requirement of biblical
regeneration.
Followed by the New Wave phenomena of the 90's, where wholesale
spiritual
bedlam was unleashed throughout pentecostal churches worldwide,
attributed to being of the Holy
Ghost and defined as a new global 'spiritual awakening'. Also
justified as paving the way
where "anything goes", if it's done in the name of Jesus. At the
same time in removing the attention off Jesus and onto the sensational.
Such
manifestation of nonsensical behaviour, in the world's spotlight, would
never
have been tolerated about four decades ago, by those whose profess and
name the name of Christ. Proves what the scriptures declare
...
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
This
is why it is paramount for the believer to be armed with his sword, the
scriptures, at all times, as in every facet of faith, life and application.
Also, to emphatically believe God has kept and preserved His word
for every generation, until eternity (Ps. 12: 6-7). Knowing the
book the
believer holds in his hands, and reads, quotes, declares, and places
his new life on, is nothing
short of the inerrant, pure, and inspired words of God.
Again,
let me repeat the verse ... If the foundations be destroyed, what
can the righteous do?
In order
for the Bible believer to be confident with wielding and accurately
using
his sword, it would certainly be
to his advantage if he was confident in knowing
its trusted origin and history, just as it is recorded in the Bible. Or
being fully aware of the Deceiver's lying tactics throughout all time,
until the present, in discrediting God's written word and thereby foot-tripping the believers faith in it.
We could start at the very beginning, in the
Garden of God, when the infiltrating Serpent undermined (or questioned)
God's word by asking and inferring, "Hath God said", as already mentioned. Because this has been the Devil's
subtle way of attacking God's word throughout all time. Or should
we begin at the turn of the church age when Paul made this statement
...
"For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God"?
Furthermore, many throughout history
have been
attacking and corrupting the authenticity
and authority of scripture ever since. With the crafty aim of
setting up another
authority, by stamping their ownership of entitlement on
it, with the intention of placing themselves in this seat, above
the word
itself.
For if these smooth deceivers and textual hijackers
had come and appeared in full denial and endorsement of God's holy
written word from onset, this would have blown both their credibility
as well as their cover in an instance, as Bible correctors masquerading
as Bible believers.
In
order
to be guarded against these subtle attacks, so God's seed (the word) is not
snatched
from the receiver and robbed of time to germinate, the Bible
believer
needs to be familiar with the Book. As well as the Bible
believer being made aware of his
enemy
appearing
as the slick, groomed, and acute 'correctionist' (Bible thief in other words) coming across his
path, in order to destroy his faith in it.
That's
why it is imperative every child of God takes great care in the
Bible he uses, defends, and promotes in the world, as a faithful
translation of the word of God. It's not the lost who are
the dangermen here, but the subtle blind guides who make a profession
of stealing
peoples Bibles away from them, in order for their own interpretation of
the truth to be established as authoritative, as well as add some sort
of credence to their so-called calling.
In the midst of this confusion and a
whole
host
of
babel bible versions making their mark, the door then opens for those who are intent in replacing the Holy Bible
(our
final authority) with their own "expertise" and notion they know what's
best and right doctrinally, for all concerned. This very notion being an indictment
against their very teaching anyway, as the Bible is either fully right always at the end of
the day, or they (the Bible correctors) are.
Both
can't! One either comes with flaws, thus rending itself not fully
reliable, or it comes fully watertight. A nomialist will usually
believe
the scholar first. Whereas a Bible believer will always believe
God first, acknowledging Him as the author of the Book He claims
to have preserved and kept,
from this generation and forever!
On
this
point is it very important a few myths and strawmen are swept
away in order to place the Holy Book back in its proper status, as the Bible
believers final authority in faith, life, and application.
The first misconception to expose is to do with one of the chief nick names which the Holy
Bible
(God's end time book for a universal speaking world) has been branded
with ...
namely the "King James" Bible! Or, the more familiar term ... the
"King James" "Version" (of the Bible)! Not to be unaware that the other common and
more established name (being used more in Great
Britain and her former colonies
than the United states) being called the "Authorized" Bible! Or again, the
"Authorized"
"Version"
(of the Bible)!
This
latter title mentioned having nothing to do
with it
being authorized by King James, by the way. For it was not till
nearly
three hundred years after its release, that the tag "King James" was
commonly placed
on the Holy Book. This occurred in 19th Century America when the
modern versions started hitting the religious market at the time, as a
selling commodity among a church attending nation. Moreover, to a
church slowly warming to a watered down version of the gospel.
Reflected of course, by the modern changing attitude towards the
scriptures in general, giving licence and justification to the "Hath God said" club.
By
calling the
one Holy Bible the King James Version, it made the Book sound like
it was just one of many bible versions the Bible student could choose
off the bookshelf for himself. Any choice that suited the
individual, as a matter of fact, with not much thought about its
complete reliability or whether it suited the Book's apparent Author (God) or not.
Hence,
whatever was God's word just became a
matter
of preference, as the notion went. In the long term, if enough
ammunition
could be stored up against the person of King James, then the name could
be
tainted. Of course, if the name King James could be discredited,
then so too could this Book which bore his name.
Can you see the
subtlety and spin on logic
that was being introduced? As well as its conditioning effect taking place! If you can undermine the King (and there
is usually always skeletons in the closet to dig up in the future) then
how much more easy it would to undermine the Book that used the King's
name for its title?
Also, by dropping the word 'bible' for the
word
'version', the would-be Bible student would end up
even more bamboozled
or intellectually razzledazzled than ever. The same way he would
find himself relying on human
"authority" and "expertise" to find the way out of the textual mess
(which the textual critics caused in the first place) with the intent
he may find that elusive, so-called, modern enlightenment, that scholarly opinion was beginning to introduce everywhere.
The
fact
of the matter is, the word of God today found in an English Bible, now
known as the King James Bible, was not, and is not, in reality, a King
James Bible at all (does this burst your bubble or give you a sigh of
relief?). Neither is it an Anglican Bible, nor a Puritan Bible
for that matter. Therefore, neither is it a Protestant Bible.
This
means, no
agency
or proxy of man can lay claim to it, monopolize it, or use copyright
laws in their favour. God is right ... His word is not bound!
Nor is it
of any
private
interpretation as the New Testament clearly reveals! The AB
stands out above any other book, or bible
version for that matter, as being God's book. The only book that
can be authentically called the Holy Book or the Holy Bible in our day
and age.
The
language
for which the Authorized is written is truly unique as well
as it being truly amazing. As well as it being truly miraculous as a matter of fact
(as in anything God does). For it
may have been
written at a time when English was established as its own language, in
its purest Elizabethan form. However, this book was not written
in Elizabethan
English! Neither Shakespearean English for that matter! The
Authorized Bible was written in
its
own Bible 'English'.
Just like, if you want an accurate account
of
history
... go to the Bible! So too, if you want English in its
purest
form ... go to the Bible! So too, if you want God's
complete word in the language which is now officially seen as the world's number one premier
language (whether we like it or not) ... go to the Bible!
The
Bible is a pure book!
The
Bible is a perfect book! The Bible is totally accurate and
totally
reliable!
There is no language pronounced, or poetically phrased, or eloquently
expressed,
as in the Holy Bible. Also known as the Authorized or King James
Bible.
Not to forget to mention its majesty and beauty, standing out in all
time
as the Book above every other book. A book from God for His
people. A book which is fully dependable and fully accurate, and
fully trustworthy, which says ... "These things have I
written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye
may know that ye have eternal life".
Of course
the other valid reason what justified renaming the Authorized as the
King
James, was because King James I of England and VI of Scotland, was
simply
the king on the throne of this new unified country at the time the Authorized was written and went
to print.
Because this king was the reigning king of the British
Isles at the time, this Book's entrance had nothing to do with whether
he
was God's elect or a reprobate at the time. God merely used this man to make
it
possible by setting everything in motion (naturally speaking) and
bringing
together events, in order for this Book to become public property, and
the ordained Book for the end times, prior to Jesus' return.
This is my personal view (if that is okay?) ... I do
not believe King James was a homosexual though, and believe
there is ample historic
proof to prove otherwise. I also believe some of the
accusations
about this man were to add ammo to the smear campaign against him for
political
reasons, as well as to aid the Serpentine cause of discrediting
the Holy Bible, and ultimately destroying the believers trust in
the
written scriptures.
However,
there is no denying King James was a Reformer, using Christianity for
his
own political agenda, who may not have ever been born again. If he was, would he not have shown mercy on his opponents and
not been party to the most cruel
and brutal forms of punishment and execution dished out on political
dissenters,
and non conformists (a name given to Bible believers) of that era?
Like
the other "highly acclaimed" Reformers, this king accomplished some
good
things and wrote some credible material, like his tracts on Demonology
and Tobacco use. However, this was at a time in Europe, just
after
the Renaissance, when being' God fearing' was not frowned
upon, but quite a convenient tool to wield fear and power, and gain control. It was also
a time when cultural awareness and biblical expression went
hand
in hand; from leaders, writers, artists, to classical music
composers. It was a time when many expressed a form of
godliness which added some outward moral
fibre
to society, to its preservation and so-called enlightenment at the
time.
Therefore,
pushing
aside red-herrings and side-issues made into mountains, we can see the
issue of whether the English Bible was the word of God or not, as
having
no bearing on whether King James the 1st was a Godly man or not.
Or whether
he
was a Freemason or not. Just as the rebuilding of Old Testament
Temple had no bearing on whether King Ezra was a heathen king or
not. Moreover, just
like when God used ravens (not doves) to feed Elijah, it left no
question on where this wonderful provision came from or not! As
someone once said:
"Who would have
ever expected that the words of a little Jewish maiden would lead to
the
conversion of Naaman the Leper? Who would have ever thought that the
evil
deeds committed by Joseph's brothers would have resulted in the
preservation
of Israel in the time of famine? But so it was in the wondrous
providence
of God. In like
manner, it was only the good providence of God that brought the King
James
Version of the Bible into existence."
By Protestants
exalting King James and the Reformers to a place of excellence (even
impeccability)
in the historic archives, as well as tying King James to the Holy Book (as if
it was his book), they have shot
themselves in the foot, allowing the
enemy
to drag up their real, doggy and brutal past, and use it against them, as well as against
the
true believers being falsely seen (with the Devil's help) of being tarred with
the
same brush.
The
Authorized
Bible is not called the Authorized because it was authorized by man by
the way,
but
because Christians believed it was authorized by God. No man, nor
party, not even King James, authorized this book. There is no
written
evidence proving the otherwise.
Yes, the King appears to be the
driving
force behind this great book being translated from beginning to end, even though his
motive may have been political or to advance his own glory. However, the fact
that the translators were well learned men of integrity (more
knowledgeable
than many refined scholars today, contrary to popular belief), and that
the Church of England did not monopolize the committee (there was also
Puritan and neutral input). Moreover, by sheer providence, and
circumstances
prevailing, this Bible was to be accepted by all parties concerned, for
the good of the people.
This way the general public had access to
the written
word of God for the first time, translated openly (not behind closed doors
like the modern versions), based on the preserved line from the
originals,
in contrast to the corrupt Sinaiticus and Vaticanus texts, which the
modern,
ecumenical, new age versions are based on today.
In closing folks, take good cheer from the written word of God! As Romans
15:4 says ...
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written
for our
learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures
might
have hope.
